New Years 2009 is already over

My chaos started at 8am. I was awakened by the doorbell. The construction guys were here to install the carpet downstairs where the party was going to happen. The party was scheduled to start at 6pm and I had a to do list about 12 items long....and about 8-9 hours of work to be done. If you know me then you know that I had each item listed numerically in order from first to be done to last. I was thrown off track right away because I had to stay at home until the carpet guys finished because I didnt feel comfortable leaving them alone. Long story as to how long it took them but they left for about 4 hours. I was glad though--it allowed me the time to run my errands so I was a happy peep! It's like my prayer was answered. I got back home just in time too... with two minutes to spare before the construction guys showed back up to lay the carpet. I ironed, cooked, prepared the fruit (cut it up), cleaned house, washed clothes, ate, drank lots of caffeine, and received lots of phone calls and texts while they worked downstairs installing the carpet. I heard my name, well, I heard, "mam" that was my cue. They were done! Yay! It was 4 ish! I had to call the restoration crew to come and move all the furniture back in place though. So, I knew that it would take them a little while to get here and then they had to move it all in place. I started to stress completely out. My neck was turning red and I was feeling hot. I drank some more caffeine. They arrived at 5pm and we started putting the downstairs back in order....they were so sweet about it all. Those two thoughtful gentlemen (Anthony and Eugene-New Vision Restoration) even dusted for me! Can u believe it- a dusting cloth and furniture spray fit their hand perfectly...and they volunteered to help out. wow! lol.
Ok, so when they left it was ten minuted till 6pm. Only ten minutes and the party has officially started and I was not ready!!! I quickly ran upstairs and started getting myself ready until I heard my first guests arrive at 6:30pm. I finished getting ready and joined the party about fifteen minutes later.
Fast forward a few hours: Most everyone is here and the party is going great. (Some were coming when they got off work). All my friends were having fun, I think. Oh, how the stress is melting away finally. (The budweiser helped with that too). "yay" I thought to myself at one point. New friends (Duffer and Nicole) were also coming to the party and that always makes me a little tense because I hate for anyone to feel like they dont know anyone, but as it turns out, they knew lots of people. Happy happy! :) (Randy went to school with them but they are new friends to me and I love them!). The party was absolutely great. There was lots of food, plenty of laughs, tons of love in the air, no drama, guitar hero, music, the ball dropped, gifts were exchanged, ornaments were passed to the left and right and then we were done all except for the drinking and their was lots of that going on. I'm positive this party wins the prize for the most amount of people ever intoxicated at our house at a given time. Randy was trashed big time and he had to work the next day. He was so funny though. He showed his ass though. Literally! He mooned us all- well he and Chad mooned us all with 2009 glasses on their asses. I'm a poet! They are funny when they are together. I had a blast and I am already planning our next get-together at the Melting Pot for Valentine's Day. Randy and I are so blessed to have such fantabulous friends. Our friends ROCK BIG TIME! The night was a success! I hope next year this party can be at a cabin with all out friends----somewhere where their is lots of snow on the ground! Oh to be a dreamer! ~
